What is hackX Jr?

hackX Jr. 9.0 is Sri Lanka's premier inter-school innovation competition, organized by the Industrial Management Science Students' Association (IMSSA) at the Department of Industrial Management, University of Kelaniya.

hackX Jr. provides a platform for school students to work in teams and transform real-world problems into innovative solutions. Whether it is a prototype, product, service, or technology-driven concept, participants receive guidance, mentorship, and hands-on learning opportunities throughout the competition to develop their creativity, strengthen their problem-solving skills, and bring their ideas to life while fostering an entrepreneurial mindset from an early stage.

Who Can Compete

Go Solo or Build a Team

You can participate as a solo innovator or form a team of up to 5 members. All team members must be currently enrolled students from the same school, encouraging collaboration within your own learning environment.

We welcome ideas that solve real-world problems through innovative, technology-driven solutions. From smart environments and green tech to digital education, healthcare, community well-being, or everyday life hacks—if it uses technology to make an impact, it belongs here.

A series of expert-led workshops designed to strengthen innovation, ideation, and solution development.

InnoX (Semi-Finals)
Selected teams pitch their ideas to a panel of judges for the opportunity to advance to the Grand Finals.
